Unsure what to do with this site...

So, I'm in a bit of a pickle rn... As the title says, I don't know what to do with this site, now that I actually bothered to add a blog section to this site! Good news! This site can have more content in it! Problem: I have to manage all this potentially new content to it. Fuck me, I guess.

I always stayed away from adding blogs to this because I knew that it was going to be a pain in the ass. I'm willing to admit that I'm way more of a lazier bum than the average Geocities/Angelfire user that willingly went through the process of blogging manually without the use of any sort of tool that uses some sort of automation. I sadly am too much of a dumb zoomer to favor convenience over anything else. That's basically why I looked up how to do that github deployment thing, since I'm more familliar Git version control, and having to update every single individual page by dragging and dropping them into that fuckass Neocities UI.

I've heard of stuff like Zonelets, and I've seen people suggest static site generators, but I'm always wary of using that, because I was under the assumption that you'd be making the website from the ground up in some shape or form. I went to the neocities subreddit to ask if it's possible to at the very least migrate the website to use an SSG while keeping most of the frontend shit mostly intact, and most of the answers basically boil down to, "yeah, it's possible." That's good! I'm still hesitant though.

Maybe it's the fact that I just started working on this website again after a long ass hiatus, and even slightly changed the design, but I'm like, too attached to the current state of this website's design to basically try to remake it in a completely website framework. Then again, I suck at letting go, so that's definitely a me problem.

That doesn't mean that I'm completely against the idea of migrating this site in the near future, though. If the time comes where I do do it, I'm probably gonna archive this version of the site. I somehow haven't done it for the previous two versions of the site, for some reason. I mean, even if they sucked ass, they still have some kinda value in some way. I'm currently trying to experiment with Hugo and 11ty (though I haven't tried 11ty yet as of the writing of this), and seeing if I could at least recreate a basic version of this site's layout, with less of the quirky visual shit in it. It's going well, so far, though Hugo's templating syntax lowkey melts my brain.

For the meantime, I'm gonna keep this site mostly as is in its current state. I'm definitely interested in looking into SSGs, though! That's all for today, I don't know how to end this.

Fun fact: I listened to Return of the Rentals for the first time as I was writing this. Pretty good album.
